For reasons of public safety and traffic safety, there is a law authorizing the use of solar control films in vehicles only on the rear side windows and the rear window in any shade. The use of solar control films on the front windows and the windshield is prohibited and subject to a fine. The law not only forbids vehicle owners of having film installed to the front windows but also forbids the sale of any automotive part or accessory that is illegal according to the regulation in BC.
